In this sequel to Christmas for a Kitten (2003), Santa brings home the kitten discovered while delivering the presents on Christmas Eve, knowing that he can’t keep him because he is “frightfully allergic.” Coincidentally, Santa finds a letter from the parents of a girl who needs a kitten, so two of the reindeer are hitched up for a quick trip to deliver the kitten to the sleeping girl. Although the plot stretches credibility, even for a Christmas story, the illustrations really shine, with scenes and figures rendered in richly colored oils (though the elves are a little creepy, with their awkwardly depicted gesturing). Excellent!

"Christmas Kitten, Home at Last" is excellent! I recently purchased a copy (along with its prequel, "Christmas For a Kitten"). As a children's book author myself ("Samantha's Christmas Kitten"), I found both books to be very well written and superbly illustrated! While the first book ended on a somewhat sad note, (Cookie never saw his mother again), "Home at Last" was very uplifting. Angela needed not only a new pet but a new friend, as well! Now if only Robin Pulver could write a third book that could somehow reunite Cookie and his mother, in Cookie's new home. That would be wonderful!

Adorable book for kids

We actually do not own this book but have borrowed it from the library. It is about a kitten that Mrs Claus gets and then she finds out Santa is allergic to him. She then reviews all the letters to try and find the kitten a home. As she searches she sees wonderful prospects but they do not have permission from the parents to get a kitten and she wants him to have a good home. It is about searching for a wonderful home for this baby kitten with hidden meanings about why she can't keep the kitten (allergies). This book is beautifully illustrated and fun to read. I enjoyed it a lot as did my girls.

Great addition to the collection

During the Christmas season, we keep children's books in the living room area. This is a wonderful addition to that collection. Kids and adults love the story and the art.
