Poor layout...but good content...

I only bought the kindle version of the book this afternoon but I've read a fair amount so far to offer some insight - I think this is important given that there were no reviews as yet for the product.
I must say that it clarifies a number of issues for me given that this is the first time I am attempting to write a thesis (for my MSc degree). The checklists are so very helpful and the subtle differences between similar sections in a given report are clearly explained (example: summary/executive summary/etc).
There are three (3) distinct drawbacks I came across thus far:
1. Tables - these were scanned and then inserted into the kindle version. The text used for the tables was Times New Roman and was very small, blurry and difficult to read which is why I am thankful for my 24" monitor. The tables appeared to be awkwardly included as an afterthought without regard for readability, presentation, and visual impact.
2. The sections are hard to tell apart at first glance. In some cases I can't tell which is a section/subsection/new section because these were not numbered at all.
3. Inconsistency in the use of numbered and bullet points. In some instances, sentences that introduce a list of bulleted points are themselves bulleted in error making those a part of the list.
These drawbacks are ironic given that the author actually spoke to the first two (2) of these points and emphasized what a student needs to do correctly to nail these in the final product. Had these been considered, the readability of the kindle version would have been that much better and the book that much more refined. Presentation counts for a lot when it comes to research papers/theses/journals, and it was rather disappointing to see that the publishers did such a poor job of that - especially given that the book actually emphasizes these things.
I debated offering a rating of either three or four stars. It's not quite four stars but the insight gained from the material I've read thus far was really appreciated and the learnings as such will prove invaluable to my work.

great resource

This is a great text to have if you are writing anything professional. I had presentations, posters and thesis to write this past year and used it for all. It was a requirement for a class but i ended up keeping it because I use it so much.
